Teachers New to the Skirball

new_teachers.jpgEducation is at the core of the Skirball's mission. We are always excited to greet new teachers and new students and introduce them to an array of programs which are aimed at building cross-cultural understanding and inspiring civic engagement. Our programs offer a unique opportunity to examine heritage, history, and the arts in ways that touch students on a visceral level and provoke critical thinking, imagination, and reflection.

The Skirball offers school tours of art exhibitions, performing arts programs and in-school residencies, and professional development for teachers. As part of our community of educators, you will receive discounts on membership, special announcements about exhibitions and programs, and access to classroom resources to use in conjunction with your visits.

If you've never been to the Skirball before with your class, we can provide you with some helpful hints for coordinating a successful visit and integrating the tour content into your classroom curriculum. We have a wealth of resources to help you prepare your class for the best visit possible. If you would like, a member of the Skirball Education staff can meet with you one-on-one to preview your tour.
