In celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of the State of Israel, this exhibition pays tribute to late Jerusalem artist Ziva Sivan (1936-2004). A graduate of Israel's Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Sivan began her career in the field of graphic design. In the 1980s, she turned exclusively to what she termed "free painting," working in her studio with the female nude as her dominant motif. Her home-in particular her ground-floor studio-offered a sanctuary for Sivan, her models, and her fellow artists with whom she worked on a weekly basis, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect, creativity, and understanding.

Selecting from the hundreds of large-scale drawings, paintings, and sculptures that resulted from these sessions, Ziva Sivan: Painting Is Her Home focuses on the evolution of Sivan's art, which moved full circle from accurate representation to abstraction and back to recognizable human forms. The exhibition also explores her inventive, experimental use of drawing media necessitated by her failing health and her persistent urge for creative expression.

Tickets are available at the door and include admission to all exhibitions, however, admission to Noah's Ark requires timed-entry tickets.
