Classic Films: Hollywood and American Ideas of Race

Over the next several months—in celebration of the exhibition Road to Freedom: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement, 1956-1968, on view now at the Skirball—the Classic Films series will screen some of Hollywood's most important efforts to mark changing notions of race in America, from the early sound era through the 1960s.
