Noah's Ark at the Skirball is open Tuesday-Friday, 12:00-5:00 p.m. On the weekends, it is open 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
I'm interested in visiting Noah's Ark at the Skirball. What's the best way to plan my visit?
Go to tickets.skirball.org or call (877) SCC-4TIX or (877) 722-4849 to purchase your tickets in advance and to guarantee your preferred date and entry time. Noah's Ark at the Skirball often sells out in advance for visits on Thursdays and on weekends. Same-day, walk-up tickets to Noah's Ark are subject to availability. Advance tickets are highly recommended on weekends, free Thursdays, and during school breaks for all Noah's Ark visitors, including Skirball Members. School breaks include spring, summer, and winter recesses. For 2014, spring break is April 15–18. To ensure a safe and pleasant visitor experience, all Noah's Ark ticketholders are assigned an entry time permitting up to two hours in the Noah's galleries.
Are advance tickets required?
No, but advance tickets are highly recommended for weekends, all Thursdays, and during school breaks, when there are usually more visitors. If you choose to visit at these times without advance tickets, you may have to wait to enter Noah's Ark.
Where should I park?
Free parking is available in the East Parking Garage.
How much time should I expect my family to spend inside Noah's Ark?
The typical visitor will spend approximately 60–90 minutes enjoying the Noah's Ark galleries and the adjacent outdoor park space.
I might be late for my reserved entry time. Is that going to be a problem?
Visitors to Noah's Ark may enter within one hour after their assigned entry time without a problem. Please keep in mind that your exit time will not be extended if your entry is delayed.
Will we be able to touch the animals aboard Noah's Ark?
Yes, if the animals are within reach, you may mingle freely with them! Noah's Ark is a hands-on destination made of natural and repurposed materials. There are many things to see, touch, move, and discover. While in the galleries, please be kind and gentle to the animals and exhibits, so we can share them with all of our visitors for years to come.
What precautions is the Skirball taking during this flu season?
The Skirball is committed to providing a clean and safe environment for all visitors. The following are a few of the precautions we are taking to help prevent the spread of the flu virus and other illnesses:
• Regular cleaning and disinfection of all common areas, surfaces in gallery spaces, and restrooms.
• Disinfection throughout the day of hands-on surfaces such as doorknobs, elevator buttons, and interactive items in the galleries.
• Easy access to hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility.
• Education of all staff on staying healthy during the flu season.
I hear there's a rainbow mist feature in the Noah's Ark outdoor park. Should we bring a change of clothes?
You may get a bit damp, especially if it's windy, but you will not likely need a change of clothes or a towel.
May I drop my children off in the Noah's Ark galleries, while I view a different exhibition or do something else?
Noah's Ark has been designed for generations to enjoy together. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The required minimum adult/child ratio is 1/4.
Is photography permitted?
While prohibited in all other Skirball galleries, photography for personal use is permitted and encouraged in Noah's Ark. Handheld cameras only; please do not bring tripods.
Are strollers permitted?
Strollers are permitted.
Is there a quiet place available for nursing mothers?
Yes, there is a family room located on the lower level of our main lobby.
Are there programs related to Noah's Ark?
Yes! There are a wide range of Noah's Ark-related performances and workshops throughout the year. Check the family programs page for up-to-date schedule and program descriptions.
My family would like to have lunch during my visit. Is food available for purchase?
Enjoy lunch at Zeidler's Café, open Tuesday–Saturday, 11:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., and Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m (beverages and desserts are served until 4:30 p.m.). Or pick up lighter fare at Zeidler's Cart, Tuesday–Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., located adjacent to the Ruby Gallery. Zeidler's Cart now offers new family-friendly options such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, juice boxes, and Noah's Ark–themed cookies. Note: Food is not permitted inside the galleries.
Can I sign up for a group tour of Noah's Ark?
Can I schedule my child's birthday party at the Skirball?
No. Due to space and staffing limitations, the Skirball cannot accommodate birthday parties with visits to Noah's Ark.
