ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Inspired by the exhibition To the Point: Posters by Dan Reisinger, the Skirball and the Consulate General of Israel are happy to announce the EL AL Poster Competition. Open to participants ages 14 and older, the winning designer will be awarded two round-trip tickets to Israel provided by EL AL Israel Airlines and have his or her work presented in the Skirball’s Ruby Gallery for the remainder of the To the Point exhibition.*
Design a poster advertisement for EL AL Israel Airlines' flights from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv, Israel. Entries should be inspired by Dan Reisinger’s EL AL posters as seen in the exhibition To the Point. Entrants will also be asked to complete a submission form describing how the exhibition influenced their design.
- Dimensions for the poster should be 24 x 18”.
- “EL AL” and “Tel Aviv” must both be printed somewhere on the poster.
- Submit your final design to email@example.com with the subject line "EL AL poster competition." It should be in the .jpg or .gif format, with a resolution of 72 dpi. The winner will be asked to re-submit the poster at 300 dpi.
- The e-mail must be accompanied by this submission form, including the entrant’s pertinent contact information. The answer to the question about how Reisinger’s work has influenced the design will be considered as part of the judging process.
- Contest participants must be at least 14 years old at the time of entry. Written consent from a parent (or both, if required by law) or legal guardian is required for entrants under the age of 18.
Entrants can submit their posters through Friday, February 21, 5:00 p.m. Entries should follow all specifications listed above and be e-mailed, together with the completed submission form, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Poster entries will pass through two rounds of judging. The initial round will be judged by members of the Skirball staff and the Consulate General of Israel. A selection of ten finalists will then be passed to renowned graphic designers Dan Reisinger and Arnold Schwartzman, who will select the winning poster.
The top ten finalists will be invited via e-mail to a special reception at the Skirball in March, where the winning poster design will be announced.
