Take an enlightening trip through the turbulent yet expressive decade of the 1960s. Offered in anticipation of the upcoming exhibition Bill Graham and the Rock & Roll Revolution, which opens May 7, this class takes an up-close look at the vibrant art of that era.

In conjunction with the exhibitions Light & Noir: Exiles and Émigrés in Hollywood, 1933–1950 and The Noir Effect, read three quintessential noir novels that take place in Los Angeles, a city that figures prominently in the noir imagination.

Choose from five different groups

Under the direction of a professional book group facilitator, explore books as a class, learning about the author’s background and analyzing characters and themes. Discussion questions are distributed in advance of each class session. Please read the book prior to each class.
