ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Investigate the science behind the latest headlines and discuss current scientific research as well as some of tomorrow’s. Topics include brain mapping, the latest research on aging, the interplay of genetics vs. environment on our health, and stem cell research, as well as several new medical breakthroughs on the horizon.

Explore how modern science is actually catching up to science fiction. Each lecture will demystify the most cutting-edge science in an easy-to-understand and entertaining manner, and provide empowering insight into revolutionary research that directly relates to your daily life and health.

Instructor: Marc Milstein earned his doctorate in biological chemistry and molecular biology from UCLA, where his focus was breast cancer research. He currently conducts neuroscience research at UCLA and created the popular lecture series “Science in Pop Culture” and “Your Amazing Brain,” which have been presented at UCLA, the Skirball, and the California Science Center.
