ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Offered in conjunction with the exhibition The Snowy Day and the Art of Ezra Jack Keats, explore the steps involved inillustrating a children’s book through hands-on assignments, lectures, and critiques.
Create illustrations that harmonize with a text, and leave with a rough dummy and three full-color illustrations. Also learn more about how to submit and market your work. Suitable for beginning to advanced artistic skills.
Please bring note-taking materials, rough sketches, and a children’s book that inspires you.
Instructor: Deborah Nourse Lattimore has a BA in Art History and Ancient Near Eastern and Pre-Columbian Studies, UCLA. She is the illustrator and author of over thirty-five children’s and educational books, and has won several awards, including a PEN Award.
