Bring the whole family to the Skirball’s Last Weekends of the Month. These fun-filled Saturdays and Sundays feature special last-weekend-only performances and activities that change every month. Take part in related art activities in the Family Art Studio, too.

Skirball Playdate: A Morning in the Yarn Forest

Sunday, January 18, 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Spend time inside the magical yarn forest installation Forest, For the Trees, and learn how to turn recycled yarn and fabric into beautiful scarves, belts, and hats using just your fingers!

Introduction to Yarn Bombing Workshop

Sunday, January 18, 1:00–4:00 p.m.

Aspiring yarn bombers! In conjunction with the exhibition Forest, For the Trees, create your own yarn bomb and help decorate the Skirball campus in this workshop for adults and children ages 10 and up.

Skirball Playdate: Mildred’s Purse

Sunday, February 15, 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

It’s happened again! Just as in our popular playdate this past November, absentminded actress Mildred has misplaced important items from her purse. In this gallery-based adventure, inspired by the exhibition Light & Noir: Exiles and Émigrés in Hollywood, 1933–1950, young detectives work together to solve the mystery.
