ABOUT THE PROGRAM
This one-day teacher professional development workshop will explore the complicated relationship between government and religion. Teachers will examine this issue as it relates to the fundamental rights outlined by the framers of the Constitution.
Workshop offerings include a lecture by noted scholar Dr. Patricia Cohen, professor of US history at UCSB; a visit to the exhibition Creating the United States; and breakout sessions with staff from Facing History and Ourselves on curriculum development and pedagogy.
Co-presented by the Skirball Cultural Center, Facing History and Ourselves, and The George Washington Institute for Religious Freedom.
