FOR FAMILIES

Last Weekends of the Month

Saturday, April 26–Sunday, April 27

ADMISSION

  • Included with Museum admission; no reservations

All ages; children must be accompanied by an adult

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Bring the whole family to the Skirball’s Last Weekends of the Month. These fun-filled Saturdays and Sundays feature special last-weekend-only performances and activities that change every month. Take part in related art activities in the Family Art Studio, too.

April 26–27—Skirball Pet Party
In conjunction with the exhibition The Snowy Day and the Art of Ezra Jack Keats, spend the weekend rubbing noses with cats and dogs. Join the Pasadena Humane Society on Saturday and Heaven on Earth Society for Animals on Sunday in reading books that feature some of Keats’s most beloved furry characters. Also create animal toys and pet portraits of your own. Animals will be available for adoption. Note: Please leave personal pets at home.

Drop in anytime during regular Museum hours;
last entry at 4:30 p.m.

UPCOMING DATES

May 31–June 1—Snowy Day Window Portraits
Inspired by the exhibition The Snowy Day and the Art of Ezra Jack Keats and the urban neighborhoods portrayed in Keats's books, create a "window portrait" collage from paper and fabric, then add your window to our apartment facade. Facilitated by artist Marianne Sadowski.

Drop in anytime during regular Museum hours;
last entry at 4:30 p.m.

June 28–June 29—Joe Cepeda and Antonio Sacre
Stop into the Hurd Gallery at 10:30 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. to hear local children’s book authors and illustrators Joe Cepeda (Mouse and Beans, Two Bunny Buddies) and Antonio Sacre (The Barking Mouse) read from their books and discuss their influences.

Readings at 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
