ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Hear original American cartoonist and MacArthur Fellow Ben Katchor take on the many ways possessions and consumer culture influence and reflect our cultural values.
Katchor’s newest work, Hand-Drying in America, is a collection of graphic narratives about urban planning, product design, and architecture, and serves as a delightful, surrealist handbook for the rebuilding of society in the twenty-first century. Frequently brilliant, sometimes bizarre, and always mesmerizing, the book ensures that you will never look at a building, a bar of soap, or an ATM the same way. A Q&A and book signing follow the program.
