SPECIAL EVENTS

Antique Sewing Machine Demo

Thursday, February 12, 1:00–4:00 p.m.

ADMISSION

  • Included with Museum admission; no reservations

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In honor of President Abraham Lincoln's birthday, stop by the Skirball’s core exhibition, Visions and Values: Jewish Life from Antiquity to America, for a free hands-on demo of an antique hand-cranked sewing machine, hosted by local group SewCranky.

Learn how these beautiful machines were used during the Civil War. For all ages.

Also, during the last weekend of February, join SewCranky in creating fabric wallets and water bottle bags using the sewing machines at a special Last Weekends of the Month program.
