ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Learn how to distill language into dynamic compressed forms of expression in this course offered in partnership with Otis College of Art and Design.
Less is more! Format options include: six-word memoirs, vignettes, stand-alone chapters, flash fiction, prose poems, postcard stories, novellas, concrete/visual poetry, and more. Focus will be on voice and story, while also paying attention to word choice, syntax, and rhythm. a perfect introduction to creative writing or an ideal way for intermediate/ advanced students to take their long-form writing to a new level. Final projects may be a collection of compressed-form pieces or selected chapters for a book-length memoir or novel.
Instructor: Martha Fuller holds an MA in English literature, Claremont College, and an MFA in creative photography, California State University, Fullerton. She has taught numerous courses in creative writing and literature.
