See a special family-friendly excerpt of the Bella Lewitzky dance work Inscape that features Los Angeles companies Luminario Ballet and Pennington Dance Group wearing costumes designed by Rudi Gernreich. An interactive exploration of the costumes follows the performance.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see excerpts of choreographer Bella Lewitzky’s seminal 1976 work Inscape. Wearing the iconic costumes originally designed by Rudi Gernreich and newly made by Diana MacNeil, dancers from Luminario Ballet worked with John Pennington of Pennington Dance Group to recreate elements of this masterwork. As described by the New York Times in 1979, “[Inscape] still has the fascination of Rudi Gernreich’s decor and stretch‐fabric costumes, which are totally integrated into the design and intent of Miss Lewitzky’s choreography.”
