About the Program

Based in Echo Park, MôForró plays triangle-driven, hip-swiveling dance music in the traditional, rootsy, pé de serra–style of forró from Northeast Brazil.

Since forming in late 2012, MôForró has been integral to the growing popularity of forró as a dance and music genre throughout Southern California. The ensemble has played in major cities throughout the United States, including San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and New York, and can be seen regularly at their Los Angeles home, Trópico de Nopal Gallery and Art Space in Echo Park.
