About the Program

Through hyper-theatrical puppet performances, magical video projections, and original songs, Rogue Artists Ensemble bring the Caldecott-winning book Zen Shorts to life at this performance.

The story follows three siblings navigating the pressures of school, friendship, and growing up. When a Zen master panda named Stillwater moves into their neighborhood, he shares three simple Zen tales that illuminate the siblings’ world. Zen Shorts is an adventure filled with imagination, love, and panda philosophy.

Produced by special arrangement with Scholastic Books. Based on Zen Shorts by Jon J. Muth. Adapted for the stage by Elizabeth Wong with Rogue Artists Ensemble. Directed by Sean T. Cawelt.

Note: An ASL interpreter will be present at this performance.
