About the Program
Open Shabbat reimagines the Jewish ritual of Shabbat as a meaningful life practice for all. Join us to unwind from the week and celebrate Hanukkah during a communal meal prepared by Skirball Executive Chef, Sean Sheridan, featuring winter squash latkes, honey roasted chicken, lacinato kale and caramelized shallot noodle kugel, and dulce de leche sufganiyot.
In keeping with the literal translation of Shabbat (“to rest”), take a breath and practice being fully present. Participate in reflective activities led by meditation teacher Alison Laichter and enjoy musical accompaniment by violinist Janice Markham.
Arrive at 6:00 pm to mix and mingle. Dinner begins promptly at 7:00 pm.
