On the Other Side

A Performance-In-Progress

Sunday, March 17, 4:00 pm

About the Program

Humans are territorial beings—marking lines that divide the world, delineate territories, and divide property. But how do these boundaries affect our bodies, our thoughts, our memories? On the Other Side is a documentary performance, challenging notions of borders and bordering in our present era.

By theater director Marike Splint, the work features performers whose lives have been directly and deeply impacted by different borders at different times. Come see their work-in-progress material developed during a one-week residency at the Skirball and then discuss the performance with the artists after the show.

On the Other Side is a National Performance Network/Visual Artists Network (NPN/VAN) Creation & Development Fund Project cocommissioned by the Skirball in partnership with ADRI Penn State and NPN/VAN. The Creation & Development Fund is supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts (a federal agency).
