About the Program
Explore the legacy of the Holocaust from the perspective of the third generation living in Austria at this intensely personal one-man production featuring award-winning multimedia artist Eduard Freudmann.
In an effort to understand his family’s silence about their experiences, Freudmann turns to his family archive, which includes poems written by his grandfather while imprisoned in concentration camps. Reflecting on how to speak about horrific experiences once the witnesses are gone or silent, Freudmann offers a compelling performance about the impact of trauma across generations.
A Q&A follows the performance.
This performance of The White Elephant Archive, Setting No. 3 is made possible by the Austrian Consulate General Los Angeles, Future Fund of the Republic of Austria, and Federal Chancellery of Austria.
