Francisco Goldman in Conversation with Rachel Kushner

Monkey Boy | Virtual Talk

Wednesday, May 12, 7:00 pm (PT)

About the Program

Honoring Jewish American Heritage Month! Hear celebrated, award-winning American author Francisco Goldman discuss his latest novel, Monkey Boy. This extraordinary coming-of-age story follows Goldman’s alter ego as he confronts his past and the longstanding effects of straddling dual identities—whether American/Guatemalan, Jewish/Catholic, or white/brown—while living between Mexico City and New York.

Goldman will be in conversation with acclaimed novelist and Booker Prize–finalist Rachel Kushner, whose new book, The Hard Crowd: Essays 2000–2020, is just out. Join these two longtime friends for what promises to be a captivating talk with both humor and heart.

Books with signed bookplate available for purchase from Chevalier’s Books.

“The warmth and humanity of Goldman’s storytelling are impossible to resist.”—Kirkus Reviews
