Upcoming Programs

  • Saturday, May 11, 2:00–3:00 pm - Visions and Values
Embark on a journey of discovery with the Skirball Cultural Center and explore the rich tapestry of family histories. Join us at the Los Angeles Central Library as we learn about a compelling true story of one family’s journey away from home, drawn from the Skirball's Visions and Values Curriculum. Then, collage with us and create a time capsule to honor your own unique legacy for future generations. Drawing inspiration from Jewish traditions and the Skirball’s extraordinary collection of Judaica, this workshop is designed for participants of all ages to share their family stories, create original artwork, and ignite positive change.

  • Saturday, Jun 15, 2:00–3:00 pm - Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak
Join us for an enchanting story time and art making adventure at the Los Angeles Central Library, inspired by the exhibition Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak at the Skirball Cultural Center. After story time, participants will unleash their creativity through art making, drawing inspiration from the whimsical world of Maurice Sendak’s illustrations. This program is led by artist-educators from our award-winning family destination, Noah's Ark at the Skirball.

  • Saturday, Jul 13, 2:00–3:00 pm - Noah's Ark
Ignite imagination and creativity at Los Angeles Central Library with Noah's Ark at the Skirball storytellers! Join us for an interactive flood story experience. After the oral storytelling performance, participants will have the chance to engage in a hands-on art activity, letting them express their creativity while celebrating diverse cultural perspectives.
