About the Program

Join us as Citizen University hosts LA’s first Civic Saturday at the Skirball. A civic analogue to a faith gathering, Civic Saturday brings together friends and strangers to nurture our shared civic spirit and reflect on American civic religion—the creed of liberty, equality, and self-government that truly unites us.

Join in song with singer, songwriter, artist, and activist Marisa Martínez, hear poetry read by West Coast Youth Poet Laureate Mila Cuda, share readings of American civic scripture, and listen to a civic sermon by founder Eric Liu (author of You’re More Powerful Than You Think). Arrive early for coffee and conversation!
