About the Program

Hear from Anne Berest about her autobiographical novel, The Postcard, in conversation with literary curator Louise Steinman. This American Choix Goncourt prize–winning story recounts Berest’s receipt of an unsigned postcard, leading her to investigate the lives of relatives killed at Auschwitz and resulting in reconnection to her own Jewishness.

The Postcard is a quest for origins that plunges us into the darkest hours of history while revealing deeper truths about a writer's identity. A book signing follows the program.
