About the Program

Take a closer look at the intersection of gender and LA’s restaurant culture during this series with food historian Lara Rabinovitch, PhD. On December 12, Nyesha J. Arrington, chef-owner of the restaurant Native in Santa Monica and Top Chef alum, will share her stories. This candid conversation will cover her professional journey, the politics of today’s restaurant kitchens, and her favorite things to cook and eat in LA. Then taste samples of her food!

Lien Ta of Koreatown hotspot Here’s Looking at You kicked off the series on October 10. On November 7, attendees heard from Roxana Jullapat, chef-owner of the critically acclaimed seasonal café Friends & Family in Hollywood and former chef-owner of Cooks County in Beverly Grove.
