School Tour | Grade 6–8

The Black Panther, Captain America, The X-Men—some of your favorite superheroes were created by iconic comic book artist Jack Kirby. On this tour, you will learn more about Kirby’s life and career, create your own artwork, and discover how you can be a superhero in your community by leaving a positive impact.

Registration opens soon for fall/winter 2025–2026 school tours. 

$100/tour (admission scholarships available)
60 students and 10 adults maximum per visit

Groups with more than 60 students should contact education@skirball.org. 

About the Program

Be a hero! On this tour, students will: 

  • Learn about and view original artworks by Jack Kirby, the comic book artist who co-created The Black Panther, Captain America, The X-Men, and many more of your favorite heroes 

  • Discover how Kirby’s Jewish American identity and values informed everything he did, from creating characters that fought the Nazis to fighting for Civil Rights to supporting up-and-coming artists. 

  • Create a superhero-themed art project centered around themes of making a difference and being an upstander 

The educational benefits of this program include:

  • Reinforcing curriculum content standards of visual art, social studies, and social emotional learning
