About the Program
Art, music, poetry, and hospitality are at the heart of both Jewish and Persian traditions. This multi-sensory afternoon invites adults and kids alike to gather in the Skirball’s courtyards and galleries for a celebratory exploration of Jewish Persian culture.
Savor a traditional tea service with sweets and nuts; hear live performances inspired by classical and contemporary Persian sounds; try your hand at calligraphy, miniature painting, and family-friendly artmaking; learn from community partners; and dive deeper into history through talks and highlights from the Skirball’s collection related to Jewish life in Iran.
Throughout the day, community leaders and next-generation voices will reflect on Persian Jewish identity, the connections between Purim and Persian history, and the future of Persian LA—foregrounding stories of resilience, belonging, and cultural continuity.
