About the Program

Programmed on the anniversary of Robert F. Kennedy’s birthday, this screening explores America's quest for hope in the face of tragedy. Watch portions of The West Wing, Bobby Kennedy for President, The Missiles of October, Dolores, and The American President—a specially selected mix of film and TV that portends this unique moment in US political history and call upon Americans to unite in defense of democracy.

A Q&A with political film scholar David Bender follows the screening.

“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.” — Robert F. Kennedy
