About the Program
Bring Skirball educators to your school for an in-person professional development workshop! Drawing on Jewish traditions and American democratic values, this program uses primary sources as a teaching tool. Gain techniques for supporting students’ social and emotional competencies, creative problem-solving, cross-cultural connections, and collaboration skills.
This training introduces classroom teachers to Skirball’s Visions and Values Curriculum, provides tools to teach with primary sources and to practice arts-integration teaching strategies that focus on themes of identity and family values. Use reflection, art-making, and students’ imaginations to define your classroom’s shared values and write personal narratives.
This workshop includes:
- Guided training though Skirball’s Visions and Values Curriculum
- Ready-to-use lesson focused on culture, identity, and building community.
- Guided lesson planning with Skirball educators
- Hands-on art-making workshop (supplies will be provided)
- A chance to win a FREE Values and Legacy school tour during the 2023–2024 academic year.
